Q + A

What is Mediterranean Formal?

The Wedding is a formal event at a beachfront resort along the Gulf of Corinth. For women: long, maxi or cocktail dresses. For men: suits or sport coats, with or without ties.

How close are the various venues?

They are all in various beach towns on the same local beach road along the sea called the "Palea EO Korinthou Patron" - which roughly translates to the "old Greek road from Corinth to Patras".

How far exactly are the venues from each other?

The Arion Hotel is in Xylokastro town on one side of the Pine Forest along the sea and the Sikyon Resort borders Xylokastro/Sikia towns on the other side of the Pine Forest along the sea - they are a 4 minute drive (30 minute walk) from each other. The Pappas Garden (across the street from the beach) is in Kato Diminio - a 10 minute drive further down the road from the Sikyon Resort. AVRA Restaurant is one minute further down the road along the sea in Kato Diminio.

What is the Pappas Garden?

It is part of the Pappas/Foley House complex across the street from the beach. The street number on the column is 170 (per Papou- Dimitri Siokos) but google maps show it as 146 (not 170) EO8 Kato Diminio. The Siokos family tree dates back to 1800 in Diminio. Papou (Elena's great grandfather) built the house in the late 70's and the entire family has enjoyed it since then. Gus & Pamela recently expanded the property to include what we are referring to as the "Pappas Garden" for the event. We will have a Texas flag marking the location along the street. Opa!

Where do I park?

Both Arion and Sikyon have parking. AVRA Restaurant has limited parking at the restaurant as well as additional parking marked across the street. Parking for the Pappas Garden is at the empty lot down/across the street to the left (facing the ocean) - also to be marked with a Texas flag.

Will there be any transportation to the wedding?

We are working on a bus from the Arion to the Sikyon Resort for the wedding. We will keep you posted.

Is there a map?

There is! See below:

What are the transportation options from Athens?

You can rent a car at the airport and drive to the hotel/resort on the toll road (toward Patras) - make sure to bring Euros for the tolls along the way. Take E94, then A8 and exit Xylokastrou. Back track on beach road to the hotels. Travel time by car is roughly 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If not driving, take the train from the airport to Kiato (with one train change at Piraeus). Kiato is the larger town next to Kato Diminio. From Kiato you can take a taxi to the hotel/resort - more information to follow. If no ubers, taxis can get you around to the various venues. There are also buses from Athens to the areas.
